The Download Insight Full Report settings let you specify whether you want to receive Download Insight alerts.
You can use the following options to configure Download Insight Full Report:
| Always | Displays the alerts for files of safe and unknown reputation levels In this case, Auto-Protect removes the unsafe files. The alerts for files of safe and unknown reputation prompt the user to select an action that Norton Internet Security must perform on the file. |
| Suspicious Only | Displays the alerts for files of unknown reputation levels In this case, the alerts prompt the user to select an action that Norton Internet Security must perform on an unknown file. Norton Internet Security suppresses all the alerts that are related to safe and to unsafe files. Auto-Protect removes the unsafe files and allows the execution of the safe files. By default, the Download Insight Full Report option is set to Suspicious Only. |
| Never | Suppresses all the Download Insight alerts However, Auto-Protect continues to process the files for analysis of its reputation level. Based on the reputation level, Auto-Protect takes an appropriate action. Auto-Protect allows the execution of the safe and the unknown files. In the case of unsafe files, Auto-Protect removes them from your computer without alerting you. You can view details of these activities under Download Insight category in the Security History window. |
To configure the Download Insight Full Report options
- In the Norton Internet Security main window, in the Web pane, click Settings.
- Under Download Intelligence, in the Download Insight Full Report row, do one of the following:
- To receive alerts for files of safe and unknown reputation, move the Download Insight Full Report switch to the Always position.
- To receive alerts for files of unknown reputation, move the Download Insight Full Report switch to the Suspicious Only position.
- To suppress all alerts, move the Download Insight Full Report switch to the Never position
- Click Apply.
